A couple old Remington 1875s and an 1888

Post by taylorz1 »

Howdy folks,

Have a couple old 1875s and an 1888 remington and was womdering about value and if anyone would be interested in trading for hepburn or rolling block sporters/target rifles. The brown 1875 is a totally brown gun in .44rem. Some darn fool bushed and faced the cylinder sometime in the past so, while the gun locks up tightly and indexes well, it has a shiney metal cylinder face. Bore and chambers are dark but there is plenty of rifling left and it should be a shooter. The next 1875 is also a little ill. It is a mix of nickel and bare metal in, I think, 44-40. Bore and chambers are excellent. SOmeone either hit something with the barrel or the barrel was turned too far into the frame as there is a small crack in the right side of the frame that could easily be magna fluxed and it would be an excellent shooter. The 1888 is a nice little gun. Lots of original nickel. Bore has some rust but lots of strong rifling. Looks like someone dropped it on its side though as one of the chambers is not quite round by micrometer. Thanks all in advance,
