Number 1 firing pin
Number 1 firing pin
Slot on the bottom of firing pin is over half the distance of the pin. Is this correct? Or should the slot be short? Anyone have a picture of a #1 firing pin? Long slot allows pin to travel backwards and keeps breach block from rotating back and opening. Thanks, LTC G

I have two spare No. 1 firing pins. Both have a slot that measures approximately .259". The firing pin is not used to keep the block from opening. The front shoulder of the hammer rotates under the rear shoulder of the block to keep the block closed--if I read your question correctly.
