I was looking at a number of 870's and noticed that some of the barrels were marked with the choke size while others were not. Was this done for some reason? Or am I just not finding the markings?

My first thought is that the barrels with screw-in choke tubes would not be marked because the choke would vary depending on which size tube was installed. The fixed choke barrels would have the size stamped on them. Then there could be after market barrels that were marked fixed choke and later had the choke modification done. Just a thought.
