Remington -91- Rifle Ammuntion (7.62x54R Russian?)

Post by Guest »

I have a four nice rounds of ammo that appear to be the 7.62X54R Russian military caliber from WWI and WWII. The headstamp on the fully rimmed cartridge is stamped Remington -91-. Is this the Mosin-Nagant 1891 ammo that Remington produced for the Russian Tzar? Does anyone have the history on this stuff? One of the rounds has a "U" in the primer, but the other three do not.

What did the box look like that these cartridges came in?

Can anyone tell me, or e-mail me a picture of what the box these cartridges came in looked like? Also, if there are any for sale i might be interested in purchasing one, either empty or full.

Im pretty sure that is for a mosin-nagant. My buddy has an m44 and an m91/30 and they both take 7.62x54r. I would look for a website that has information for the old russians, there are tons of them.

I have a few rounds of these too. I also have some Remington bronze points for this caliber on Gun Broker. They are really neat but I do not have a rifle in this caliber.
