Visited the 760 page, and saw that around 64,000 model 760 were sold the first year, 1952. However, the bottom of the page giving this information appears to be cut off, and does not complete the sentence. I think the missing portion gives numbers for various calibers, which is what I am interested in.
The page states, "Sales in 1952 surpassed all marketing predictions, and they totaled 63,735 rifles: 41,417 i "...and that is where it ends. I have a .35 Rem 760 of 1952 (yy) mfg, and would like to know how many were made, and/or sold that year. I think the 41,417 referenced above is sales of .30-06 versions. The .35 Rem was not available until July, so sales were pretty low.
If it helps, the serial number on my rifle is 54,xxx. Is there any way to determine the month of mfg, and/or how many total .35 Rem 760's were made that year?
Thanks for any help. My direct email is jcargill@searchpros.net
