So.. I'm trying to figure out what I have unearthed reasenly, this pistol , and a sword
Both found on my property while doing landscaping . Both items where not located in the same area nor at the same time
actually several months apart I live in the Texas hill country on a cliff overlooking a lake high above the water so I'm not sure how they ended up here I'm attaching photos. any info will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Re: Found doing landscaping at my home
Hi DB,
It looks like a New Model Army, made in Nov or Dec of 1864. It is definitely a relic, and its rusted so bad that its impossible to see if there are any inspector's marks on the major parts, so we'll never know if it was civilian or military,
Daniel

The revolver looks like it will clean up good enough to shoot. It must have been in very dry ground. If it had been here in MS it wouldn't be in anywhere near that good of a condition. I dug up an 1892 Winchester that was made in 1907 and it was too far gone. I got the lever freed up but it wasn't worth going any further.
