remington model 31 marking info.

I have a model 31 with a 30 in full choke barrel. Barrel codes is KL . May of 1942. Serial number is 58201. There is also a marking on the bottom of the receiver I.O.P P-48.
I have looked on the web and have not found out what the I.O.P P-48 designates. The gun is in very good shape and functions well. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
