1858 navy
I had shown these pictures in another post, I'd like to see if anyone can shed some more light on identifying these marks on the bottom of the barrel. Or just more than its an 1858 navy, This pistol is in full working condition and all the numbers match. I think the date of manufacture is 1863.

Hello,
That is a Beals Navy Model, made in July of 1862. The single letter stamps are inspectors' marks, usually military sub-inspectors. There should be a cartouche on the lower left stock if it was made for a military contract, but it could be worn off, or the stock is a replacement. This was near the end of the Beals production. I have no idea what the marks on the bbl bottom are, or what they might mean.

I have a gun given to me by my father. Recently figured out it is some version of an 1858. The number 64 is stamped on it, as well as what looks like: PPP06876DD on the bottome of the grip. Can anyone help me identify what this is and age? Thank you in advance!

To get the best chance for a reply, you need to start a new thread, instead of tacking on to an existing thread. Next, we need pictures to ID the model. That long "number" with letters and numbers together is not a Remington serial. That is a good example of why we need photos. Please resubmit your request with photos in a new thread so we can help you.
