Forend Support 1100 LT-20

Post by dhenzler »

I recently purchased a 1967 vintage 1100 LT-20. It's forend is a bit too loose for my taste... I've noticed there are no forend supports manufactured for any of the sub-gauge shotguns. Why?

I have MANY Remington 1100's and most are tight enough. So I am assuming that the problem isn't common. I attempted a fix by inserting a folded business card to no avail...

Has anyone come up with a fix other than duct tape?

You do not have a 1967 LT-20. They didn't come out until 1977.
There is no rear fore end support on an LT/LW 20 ga. 1100. The fit of the fore end on the magazine tube and two reliefs cut to fit the receiver on the rear are supposed to do it. Taking some masking tape to the inside of the hole in the front of the fore end tightened mine up fine. Don't overdo it, you can split the fore end.
What could have happened... did.

Thanks for the correction. There were markings on it that lead me to believe it was 1967. I was/am looking for a 24" Rem-choke VR barrel for it. Am selling the 21" "Special Field" Rem-choke VR barrel asking $550 due to rarity. I did get a 28" barrell but don't know if my wife will be happy with that length.

Have a happy... thanks again for the info.
