Trying to find the year of manufacture...

Hi, I inherited a model 597 from my grandfather and would like to know the year it was manufactured. Everything I find online says there should be letter codes on the barrel, but this one doesn't have anything like that. I know he bought it in the early 2000s, probably around 2001 or 2002. I'll attach pictures of all the markings. Thanks for the help!

Take off the stock, date codes are rarely visible.

In your second picture you can see the barrel date code. It looks like a XB "21 XB 7" It seems to be lightly struck on the bottom half
It is located on the left side just in front of the receiver.

The XB would indicate

X - December
B - 2006
