I was given a 11-87 Super Magnum Special Purpose, that the bolt will not lock back when manually pulled back.
I have not tried to shoot this weapon, as I want to be sure what the issue is.
I would think at this point and time that I'm looking at something internal as compared to a tube spring not have enough tension to push it rearward enough to catch.
Thanks
Remington 11-87 Bolt not locking rearward
Re: Remington 11-87 Bolt not locking rearward
#1 suspect, a bent carrier latch. Possibly caused by someone dropping the hammer on the trigger group out of the gun. Gun should still function okay otherwise. Good luck if you try bending it back.
What could have happened... did.

Thanks Virginian. I will look into a new one, Can't be that much. Appreciate the help.

New Carrier latch installed. 11-87 works fine, need to go out and shoot it to be sure, but everything works great manually.
Clean it up and sell it.
