1100 - which model is this?

Post by erinkgarvey »

I have a 1979 1100 I'm getting ready to sell but unsure which model it is... I believe it is the "Skeet", but would like help to confirm. I've been on gunbroker, armslist, guns.com to look for similar findings and prices but am getting quite the variation in costs as well. What you guys think this shotgun is worth?

I purchased it from a pawnshop a long time ago and only used it once myself.

Details
12 gauge
vented barrel
extra barrel, unused
wood etching and ejection port etching

Choke (e.g., skeet, full etc) of both your barrels should be stamped on the side of each barrel or be equipped with RemChoke. Also chamber length (2 3/4, 3") should be stamped on the side.

They are both stamped with a star then 12 GA. For 2 3/4 IN SHELLS. I don’t see anything about rem choke on them. The right side of both barrels have the warning label with manufactured from Remington arms company, inc. ilion, NY USA

It is a standard second generation Model 1100. If it was a SKEET model, it should say so. Serial # and barrel(s) info would be helpful. Looks to be in good shape. $600 to $750.

At that time, 1979, the only difference between the 12-gauge Model 1100 Field Gun and the Model 1100SA Skeet Gun is the skeet gun had a 26-inch, vent rib, SKEET choke barrel with a mid-bead while the Field Gun only had a front bead.

THANKS! The serial # is N200546V. I called Remington to find out the date because I could not find the two letters stamped anywhere on the gun itself to find out myself and in telling them the serial number I have, they confirmed the date was July 1979. It looks like it only has a front bead and the barrel is 26" long.

Field gun style?
