Would appreciate help in identifying year of manufacture for 1858 Remington New Model Army serial number 48433. Matching serial numbers are found underside of barrel, on grip frame and inside of trigger guard. There are at least 7 marks from sub-inspectors on the revolver. The cartouche is completely worn off of the grips. Would appreciate any feedback you may have. Thanks !

Your gun, 48433, was made in Dec. 1863. The sub-inspectors' mark indicate that it was a government contract gun, but there is no list of what units got what guns, so that's all that we can know about your gun.
