Wave washer dimensions

Post by Ninefingers »

Greetings all. I have removed the detent from my 870 Express in order to install an XS Sights magazine extension. All went well, except there is no retention at the end of the magazine anymore.

My understanding is that I need a wave washer, which is available for $3.00 plus shipping from both Brownells and MidwayUSA.

$10 plus seems awful steep, does anyone know the proper dimensions of said washer and also a suggestion for a reliable source?

Thanks in advance.

What most people call a wave washer these days is not. They have sharp teeth to allow them to bite into the metal surfaces, not unlike a lockwasher. I much prefer an O ring, as it does nor mar the metal.

I have purchased a Wave Washer suitable for the 870 from Ebay.

The dimensions are as follows:

ID: 1.057
OD: 1.329
Thickness: .026
6 waves, 3 up and 3 down.

Perfectly smooth, don’t understand prior reference about “teeth”.

You sir got a genuine wave washer. If you look around a bit you will see what I am talking about.
