Another 1100 Inquiry

Post by Ducs »

Hello Remington Experts, I recently acquired a 1100 12 Gauge Trap model with a 28" interchangeable choke barrel. I've been trying to determine production date, but I can't seem to find a way to decode the serial number as it doesn't follow the published numbering scheme. I would also like to find out more about this firearm's configuration. I am attaching pictures below. Please let me know what you think about this firearm. Thank You in advance.

Receiver is a 2-3/4" version, made from 1968 to 1974. Best guess 1970. Barrel was made January 2002.

The barrel, however, was custom choked by I believe Stan Baker (decd.) in Washington.

If you post some photos or do a search on Stan Baker on Trapshooters.com you can get a much better education than I provide.

Good Luck, Will

I did some research on Stan Baker and it does look like it is one of his barrels modified for use with Winchester chokes. There is an engraved .728 on the bottom on the bottom of the barrel few inches away from the breach. Thank You for pointing me to it.

In regards to dating of this firearm, what specific numbers identify it ?

I had quite a bit of custom barrel and choke work done by Stan, and visited with him a couple of times in Seattle. I learned a bit from him and Ralph Walker both. Both fine gentlemen.
