In need of a derringer trigger spring
In need of a derringer trigger spring
I am new to this forum. I am attempting to repair a Remington double derringer that belongs to my father, The trigger spring is broken and I need to find a replacement. Any ideas where to begin ? I've had no luck at any of my usual sources Thanks in advance.
Re: In need of a derringer trigger spring
Hello Kaiser,
I hoped that someone would chime in with a parts source or two. You may have to buy a "parts" gun that is far from beautiful, but functioning, just to get the spring. Or, have a gunsmith make a spring, neither which is cheap. What condition is the DD in? Is it worth the potential cost of repair? Dixie Gun Works has none in their catalog, but they may have some odds and ends parts laying around. You should try Gun Parts Corp., and check the auction sites, they often have partial guns for sale as parts guns.
Good luck in your search,
Daniel

No luck anywhere. Looks like 'm going to have to attempt to make a spring. I have found some similar ones that I think I can adapt.

Re: In need of a derringer trigger spring
I made a spring for a Colt New Line from one of those blue steel paper binder clips.
The bigger ones are thicker than the little ones.
It might work
Best luck
