rifle sight

Post by paul harm »

I have a 1882 10ga sxs that has a 40 cal rifle barrel insert. I need some sights. In the Remington SxS book a simple sight is shown with a notched bar to adjust height. The threaded screw holes in my rib - back 1.070 apart, front .735 apart. Anyone have any suggestions to what I could use or adapt to fit. I've mickey moused some sights on, but not happy the way they look. The liner says 10ga - 40 2 1/2. I fire formed some 30/40 Craig's , cast some .410 layman 425gr slugs, and used 20.5grs of IMR4198. In Semmers book on Remington doubles he shows a barrel liner in 40/50. I'm assuming that's 50grs of BP. It seems to shoot just fine - my granddaughter last year took it hunting but didn't see a deer. Any help with the sights or load I'm using would be appreciated. Paul
