Remngton RH38 and RH40 fix blades

Post by AREMINGTONSEDGE »

How 'bout a look at the Remington fix blade hunting knife? RH38 & RH40. The RH40 is a rare and difficult knife to find and the RH38 is near mint with original sheath.

What much does a nice RH 30 go for and how hard are they to find?
Also there is a book on Identification Guide to Remington Sheath Knives
I would like to buy.

2shooter, The Remington R30 is scarce knife to find in overall good condition. Remembering this was a useful tool for hunters in the years of production from 1926-1940, money was tight and items for the common man generally were for use and not collection pieces. You can still find them with vigilant attention on eBay and other auction sites. The price varies depending on the condition of the knife or if it has the original sheath as well the overall condition of said sheath. Asking price can range above and below starting price of $100.

As far as books/guides pertaining to identification of sheath knives, I highly recommend IDENTIFICATION GUIDE TO REMINGTON SHEATH KNIVES 1925-1940 by D.Y.GRIMM. This has it all...what a useful and complete resource.

Hope this helps...If you need more info in general on select cutlery companies and their knives I encourage you to go to AAPK knife site for a friendly and amazing experience. Rocky

After looking through my knives I did find that Remington RH30 and sheath. This has full blades and beautiful patina and has quite the heft to it for a small bowie. At overall total length of 10" it fits well in the hand and has amazing balance. One of the many favorites I have. 8)

Sorry, I pulled the wrong sheath when I took the picture.
