Hello,
Can anyone tell me for sure if the barrels from a model 1889 interchange with a model 1885. I'm looking for barrels for my double barrel 1885.
Also...if my 1885 gun was a 10 ga, will 12 ga barrels from another 1885 fit ?
Please help.

To determine the gauge you need to measure the width of the bolsters. (Heavy 10 -- 2 9/16"), (10 & 12 - 2 3/8"), (16 - 2 5/16")
Since all other measurements are the same for the regular 10 and the 12, I assume a 12 barrel could be mounted on a 10 frame.

The 1887 barrels have a smooth concave rib, 1889 barrels have flat matted rib
they would be high on 87.I would have check 1882 barrels to see if they would
fit.
