A few months ago, I noticed that until about 1970, most American made percussion caps were labeled "Center Fire" Union Metallic Cartridge Co caps, Remington Caps Hicks, Goldmarks, Elm city, Winchester etc. I have at least 10 or 12 older UMC, Hicks, Remington cap tins and each says center fire.
Just theorizing, because the fire goes through a hole in the center of the nipple?
Anybody know when Remington removed the words Center Fire from their caps?
