Remington 572 with chromed receiver and trigger plate

I have a Rem 572 mfd in 1975 with a chromed receiver and trigger plate. I've been unable to find out anything about the rifle; if it came from factory that way or was customized. Gun Parts Corp. has a chromed receiver cover for sale (mine is actually blued), which might mean that at some point Remington offered the rifle in this configuration. On another forum, a member had a Model 552 from same era, with the same chromed parts. The rifles shared the same receiver part. Kind of curious that two rifles share same chromed parts, but research turns up nothing. Would appreciate any light anyone could shed.
