Guys
i recently inherited a model 1889 12 ga. that was a mantel hanger for many years in my grand fathers house. now that i have it i want to get it cleaned up and possibly make it a shooter. the stock was cracked and it poor shape so im looking for a new stock if anyone can help me with that or point me in the right direction to look for one it would be appreciated. im a novice gun smith and tore this gun down last night due to the left hammer not making contact with the pin. i cant tell what the problem is with the trigger or left spring but the spring on the right side is broken off the pin that holds it to side plate. anyone know a good source of parts for these guns or know where i can find schematics or a digram.
thanks

Re: model 1889 parts
I would have the orginal stock fixed if done right just as good as new stock.
orginal and cheaper I have done this on several doubles without a problem. The left hammer you said does not hit the firing pin is that hammer correct for the gun or mismatch. When the hammer is down it is not to be hitting the pin.The locks have rebound hammers.Push forward on the hammer and pull the trigger for that barrel the hammer should move and hit the firing pin. If it doesn't there is a problem..
