600 Mohawk- correct sights?

Post by quillgordo »

I purchased a mid 70's vintage 18.5" non-vent ribbed, Mohawk 600 in 222. Since the gun came with a scope mounted on it, someone took off the original sights, which I would like to restore. Someone told me the model 700 rear sight (looks like a ski jump) is correct. Other pics I have seen show a radiused front and back with the long flat middle with a L mounted sight (I hope this makes sense) Can anyone show me a pic of the correct sight or explain which is correct? Thanks

Hi,
Try this web address. http://www.remingtonsociety.com/gallery ... 600?page=1

Keep in mind that the stock is not original and I'm not an expert, but, I believe the sights are correct. I think they used these same sights on the 788. Of course the definition of an "expert" is anyone more than 50 miles from home or someone replying to a question on the internet.

Hope this helps.

The sights shown in the link are the exact same sights that came with my 600. It's the exact same stock too, that came with mine when I bought it new in the box. Of course, I bought mine in Germany, I think that the full stock variants were only sold in Europe.
