I recently bought a Model 8 in .35 REM at a gun show, rifling looks good (well, still there at least), and appears to have about 60% of the blue left. With the exception of a badly cracked forearm it seems to be in pretty decent shape overall.
The serial number is quite low 59xx which, I'm not sure about the date of mfg., but appears to be either 1906 or 1907, based on other serial # inquiries that Ive read on this forum.
My question is, can a gun this old handle modern off the shelf factory 150gr .35 REM Ammo.
I would appreciate any advice, Thanks
