Hi,

I'm awaiting an answer from Taylor & Co. on which parts for their 1875 Remmie repo will fit the originals. Will post their answer here.

Taylor & Co replied that they don't know which of their parts may interchange with originals. So much for that idea.

I have repaired many of these hammers with welding new teeth and shaping with a Dremel, works great. I will buy your old hammer if you don't want it.

I have done this multiple times. As you know, there are a lot of differences between the Italian hammers and the originals. With a lot of welding and shaping, one can get in the ball park. Best to keep the original and make the necessary repairs with professional welding, re-heat treating, quenching and shaping. A lot of work, but worth it while waiting for an original hammer to turn up.

Yosemitesam - thanks for your input. I did a bit of work on the teeth and the hair trigger situation has improved - still needs a bit more effort. Need to refresh my tempering skills!!!
