Remington 1100 LW 20 gauge ?
Remington 1100 LW 20 gauge ?
I have a Remington 1100 LW 20 gauge that has a barrel marked LW 20 with a LT 20 type long tang. The receiver is marked Remington Model-1100LW serial M590643K. Barrel is marked LW 20 with all the correct Remington markings but has a long tang like a LT 20. The date code on barrel is LO. I think this dates the gun 1977. The receiver has a LT 20 style ejection port. I have never seen a LW gun like this one. Looks like it came from Remington built this way. The gun looks like it is made like a LT 20 but is all marked correctly for a LW 20. Can anyone explain this to me?

I am in a very similar situation looking for info on this configuration. I have an 1100LW with similar M and K letters in the serial number, and the shotgun came with a long tang “LW” barrel and also an “LT” barrel. The problem is that I can’t get the bolt into battery, and I think the barrel may be the problem.
Does yours fully go into battery with the long tang LW barrel?

Yes mine goes fully into battery. I cannot find anyone that knows much about this one.

The gun operates by hand fine but have not tried to shoot it yet until I have my gunsmith look at it. Do want to sell yours?Teski wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:39 pm I am in a very similar situation looking for info on this configuration.
