Native American Design Rifle?

Post by kmd713 »

Hello,
Below you will find an old Remington rifle that my family has had for generations. There is a story about how it was confiscated by a US Marshal in Taos, New Mexico from a Native American. I’m helping my 80+ yr. old father :) . He would like to hopefully understand who this rifle potentially belonged to (tribe).
Any thoughts you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

That design means nothing to anyone except the person that put it on there. Don't see anything specifically native American about it. Remington designed rifle not native American designed rifle. Rifle with possible Native American design would be the correct way to post this. John Browning actually designed the m8 & m81 for Remington.

For whatever its worth, I'm with Eddie on this one!

You see all sorts of "strange" artwork on vintage rifle stocks and its usually from some dumbass that had too much time on his hands, thought he was an artist, and decorated his rifle. Eddie summed it up nicely!!
