It seems to be popular opinion that a rear sight from a Model 788 rifle is the same as for a Model 600 rifle with the high nylon vent rib. However when comparing a 788 rear sight to one on a Model 600 rifle with the nylon high vent rib, THEY DON'T LOOK THE SAME TO ME. Can someone with more knowledge than myself on this matter help me out ?? Thanks in advance.
I have a Model 600 rifle in .308 Winchester with the front sight but without the rear sight. Trying to get an original rear sight or a replacement that will work on this rifle. Rifle is for my 83 year old father who is a Vietnam Vet. He had one in 1965 while stationed in Guam during Vietnam. Used it to hunt pigs and goats with over there.
