20 ga. with "Transform" frame

Post by wlw-19958 »

Hi There,

I noticed a Remington rolling block for sale and the
lower tang has the extra wood screw like the "Transform"
rifles used. I don't remember seeing this feature on
a rolling block shotgun before. Any body else know
anything about this?

Cheers!

Hello Webb,

I have seen both styles of Remington rolling block shotguns. I believe some of the shotguns were made using military receivers and other shotguns were made using the receivers from the sporting rifles. The receivers from the sporting rifles generally had the longer trigger guard with the extra wood screw. Remington also used the same buttstocks and buttplates as found on the military rolling block rifles and carbines of that period. On the more sportier rolling block shotguns they would use a more flat style shotgun buttplate and wood like you would find on the sporting rifles.

Have a Good Day,
Matt
