Remington 31 20ga short barrel question

Post by ElKabong71 »

Picked this up on a whim
Barrel and receiver serial match
Length looks like 21”, but it is marked MOD
According to what I can find online if it was a riot gun it would be 20” and IC…correct ?

Thinking the barrel was cut, does the bead look correct ?

Pretty nice condition overall, will have to see how it shoots .

Barrel has been cut. Not a factory bead. Check the choke.
What could have happened... did.

The OP's barrel has a date code of RTT R = November TT = 1948.

The top barrel is a February 1949 12-gauge 30-inch Full barrel --

lower barrel is a September 1936 16-gauge 26-inch Cyl barrel, part of a two-barrel set and the bead on the 28-inch Full barrel has the same bead the same distance from the muzzle.
