Hello
Attempting to determine what sub model or anything interesting about the Model 700 I have pictured.
It is a Model 700 in 270 Win. Serial number 6733399
Best guess it was made in the 60's?
Please see attached picture.
Thanks

Re: Attempting to identify Model 700 sub model
Check this link for a more definite date:
https://www.remingtonsociety.org/manufacture-dates/
Assuming that the serial number does not have a letter prefix, it was made between 1972 and 1975 (I have some with slightly lower serial numbers that date to '71 and '72). The "6 million" digit was added in about 1969 or 1970-ish.
If the recoil pad or butt plate is genuine Remington, it may have come from the Custom Shop. It's a little odd in that the stock appears to be a BDL grade but doesn't have a hinged floor plate. It also has rosewood fore end tip and grip cap, typical of the Custom BDL grades of that era.
Kind of a "head scratcher".........but NICE!

Thanks Den
Yes it does have a Remington butt plate so maybe you are correct that it has come from the Custom Shop?
