I have a 788 dated May 67 the serial number is 0159xx .So I am trying to find out how close to the beginning of production this rifle is? Any information will be greatly appreciated sincerely Tim.

The date code LHS of the barrel will give you the month of the year built. 2 letters, the 2nd one likely a P
