Reminton 700 BDL Markings on rifle
Just bought a 700 BDL with a 9 KW and a 15 in a box on the left side of the barrel, On the right side of the barrel it has A R.B.P. in a oval , B and a shield . Numbers 6558447 on the chamber. it is a 270 , can you tell me anything about the rifle. Thanks John

Built in May 1972 using the KW dating. 15 is the assembler. 9 in the inspector. Rest of the marks are proof markings and such. Seems like a production run 700

The stock is custom or aftermarket. The metal looks to be factory standard. Remington custom shop guns usually have no assembly barrel markings.

Honestly I would have to say values would be on par. Depends on what someone wants. It looks fancier than the original but others would balk at the same. Personally, I would rather the factory stock but would hate to see it cut for a recoil pad, so someone won by getting an unmolested stock.
