Gents picked up a couple rolling blocks a few weeks back at a country auction. One was a early Danish Remington while the other is this one.
I don't see any factory markings from any company on this, it is robust, matching numbers and has some military rack stampings. Also, H 1874 on the receiver. Any clue on what I bought?
Best regards,
Bob

Re: Military Rolling block pickup
Hi There,
Your RB appears to be one of the Swedish or Norwegian
rolling blocks. Are there any markings on the right-hand
side of the receiver (like a letter with a crown over it)?
I see in the interval between typing this post and posting it,
you provided a picture of the right-hand side. The letter on
the right-hand side designates the manufacturer. I believe the
"H" is for Husqvavarna and the date of manufacture.
This is a Swedish rolling block originally a 12.17 x 44 RF but
most of these were converted to center fire later on.
Good Luck!
