Remington factory conversions
Can anyone tell me if there is a source available for serial numbers and corresponding manufacturing dates for Remington new model navy factory conversions.
Re: Remington factory conversions
The latest RSA journal, 2nd Qtr 2018, has a long article from the late Don Ware specifically on on these Navy large frame revolver conversions.

Thanks for the response. How might I gain access to the article on Navy conversion by Mr. Ware.
Re: Remington factory conversions
You might join RSA for the nominal fee, which includes 4 journals a year and access to lots of info, or look elsewhere on this website for purchasing back issues.

Thanks for the photo. I have a nickel plated thirty eight rim fire ass. no. 744 serial no. 408C7 like the one in the display. It is a part of my gun's that won the west display.

What model is the .38rf..Never saw a Rem serial number with a "C", you sure it is not a "0". Pictures would help....Jim

It's a New Model Navy and it looks like a "C" to me. I think I have heard of an R7 but not certain. I will try to post a picture.

Re: Remington factory conversions
Yes it does. It is stamped lightly but the 08C7 and 744 are clearly visible. This gun is completely original except for the possible replacement of the ejector rod.
