I have a 1889 Remington Damascus barrel gun and it's not a grade 3. I've shot cowboy and never found a short barrel gun nocked all that much time off my scores. Same with the pistol event - I went with the 7 1/2" Remington outlaws. Usually the shotgun is laying upright against a wall near a window. I can't for the life of me see how much faster it is to pick up a short barrel gun and reload it over one with 10" longer barrels. You'll save a lot more time by practicing your reloading - cocking one hammer on the way down and the other on the way up - that you ever will with short barrels . :)

I couldn’t in good conscience cut one up

I can’t see destroying history like that. Making one from parts is different

I just want one it isn’t really a time thing or a self defense thing it is a fun to own thing

I mean I have a 36 Caliber replica Colt Walker revolver. Practical? No. Worth the cost? Probably couldn’t sell it for what I have in it. Fun? Boatloads of fun

Guns are a hobby for me I like the idea of turning a basket of parts into a head turner.
