REM 1858 .44 " new model"

Post by accumulator »

First off, I would like to thank " you" for the opportunity of being included on this forum.
I have a number of questions concerning a Rem 1858 I just acquired.
Serial # 622xx date ? Also is ther any extra inspectors marks that would indicate an Arsenal refit or refinish? The condition is somewhat " scary" good . All small light lettering and the most minute inspectors marks are still sharp and crisp, showing no signs of buffing ? There is a very clear cartouche " BH" on grip left side , and tiny " c" on the bottom of each grip. Left side on octagon near frame is " L" then on frame " W" and another " W" by recoil shield. Numerous " A"'s on cyl. Then two upside down "A" 's on the right side barrel and frame. Serial number matching on inside of bottom strap under grips and inside brass trigger guard when removed. Thx. Y'all . Appreciate ANY help and info U can share. Apparently I can't upload the pics even though low res. w my phone? Sorry

You really need to move this post to the pre-'99 Handgun section. My interest lay with Remington SxS shotguns so I cannot be much help with your interesting questions.

If I'm typical of others members, I rarely visit the General Discussion section. Hopefully you'll get better response in the Handgun section.
