no 1 sporting rifle

Post by Rider »

Gentleman,
I recently purchased a No. 1 sporting rifle in 40-70 Sharps Bottle Neck. It has a shootable bore and the action is very tight. The down side is the beech front sight has been broken and the apeture disc for the rough and ready rear sight is missing. I have checked all the parts sites that I am aware of and have not located any original parts. Any help in locating original parts would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking for a tang sight for a No. 7.
Thanks.

Hello,
Say you might want to try Ken Womack at rollingblockparts.com Though he deals primarily with military rolling blocks, he might have parts for sporting models as well..

Try Garry Fellers in Fort Worth, Texas. No email but his phone number is 817 346 9633.

Tanpatsu, I contacted Ken and he gave me a couple of sources.

Easyroller, I have tried numerous times in the past to contact Gerry and have always reached a mail box. No messages have ever been returned. I will try again this week.
Thanks to both of you for your response.
