M1902 7x57 ?

Post by Merle »

Greetings,

Recently I read in another forum that modern 7x57 ammo is not safe in this rifle. According to the post the chambers are cut differently and current sporting ammo has too high pressure for a rolling block. I searched this forum, but found no answers. I have shot this rifle a few times with no problems, but now I'm nervous.

Thanks in advance.

Lots of post here's one that points to even more...

Sometimes the search is limited in the forums to what it can do.

Neat google trick

site:remingtonsociety.com 7x57

and it will point all references to 7.57 out.

OK, thanks again for the help. I have started putting together the components to reload & have another question. What are your thoughts concerning jacketed vs cast bullets? Are these barrels up to moderate use of (lightly loaded) jacketed bullets? I am getting a die set that will be dedicated to this rifle only, so won't have to mess with resetting the sizer, etc.
