Hello,
I attempted a first post over the weekend, with info on my new purchase. Whilst doing a "preview" prior to submitting, I was returned to the now empty "form". Assuming this was part of the "first post" moderation I waited. Nothing has happened, so I am testing again with a shorter and simpler post to see what happens. Thanks.

First post seems to have worked, so here is my "introductory" post.
Last week I bought my 2nd .44 NMA, at an auction at the Bisley Shooting Centre in the UK (where I am from). I've done some preliminary research and know, from its S/N 30022, that it was manufactures in August 1863.
The majority of the inspector's stamps are the letter "A", in a slightly Italic font.
It has the letter "S" to the Trigger Guard, Rammer and under the guard on the frame. It has "B" on the rear of the cylinder, a "G" on the left frame near the grip and an "R" on the left grip frame. I'm hoping that the exploded view of the stripped revolver will be atatched to this post.
Can anyone help further in its identification? It has a transitional driftable cone front sight - this has been made taller (and wider for some reason) to most likely bring the gun on aim at 25 yards using a "balloon hold" on a round bull target (like a PL7). I shoot muzzle loading pistols and revolvers and the front sight height is about the same height as the built-up blade sight on my later NMA (October 1864). I will be test firing it this coming Sunday. Thanks in anticipation for any info, George.
Looks like the picture didn't upload - I'll try a downsized copy (looks like that didn't work either :( - any help on uploading files?)
