Hi
I have a model 1890 with walnut grips like an 1875.
Flaydermann's only lists model 1890's with checkered hard rubber grips.
I realize how easy it would be to change grips, but has anyone seen 1890's with original wooden grips?
Jerry
Model 1890
1890 grips.
Thanks Jay,
Is this an old Remington catalogue that lists walnut as standard for the 1890?
Thanks,
Jerry

No you are OK, I misread your inquiry. 1890's were standard with Rubber but I have seen them with Ivory, Pearl and wood. The 1889 catalog refers only to Rubber grips. I suppose if you ordered the gun with wood Remington would accomodate you. Do they have any numbers in pencil or stamped inside? This would be a clue to factory original. Sorry for the screw up in reading your inquiry. Jay
1890 Remington
Unfortunately, no stamping or pencil marks on the grips.
So I'll have to asume that they are replacements from a long time ago.
Thank you again for your help.
