Everything looks period but for the cut forend. Bottom metal was not inset until later, grip and forearm area looks factory, and bolt cut-out and monte carlo look correct. A pic of the internal reliefing (where the action sits inside) may help but I believe that someone cut the forend to its current state. What is the measurement end to end of the stock?

All the good stuff is in The States and unobtainable to us up here in the Great White North.

The in-letting is factory. Have yet to measure my 788s as of yet, but sure looks more and more that it was cut
