In trying to diagnosewhy my .380 caliber Model 51 scatters from shot-to-shot, I found that the barrel wobbles significantly when in battery. Upon disassembly, I found that there is both side-to-side play and fore-and aft rocking play between the barrel and frame when the barrel is held into the frame by the takedown pin. Can I shim the barrel lug to remove this slop, or is it necessary for proper function?
