Just picked up a 1964 (per Rem) 40-x in 308.
Was told gun was rebarreled in early 80's with Hart barrel and mounting and chambering was done by them. Was told that this was one of the Rem 40-X kit guns, order it the way you want it, they would bed the action and the stock work was up to you.
The laminate stock has 3/4 inch central spine, 1/2 inch layers of would on the sides, in a benchrest configuration. Is this the original laminate stock from remington ??
