Well I just bought a first year (1912) model 14 in 30 Remington. Been wanting one for a while but hadn't found a decent one before. The metal and bore on this one are decent with the bluing going about 75% but no rust. Not so lucky with the wood, someone repaired the buttstock on both sides at the bottom where it meets the receiver. I think I'll have to redo this and make it right. Other than that, rifle is all original so I'm pretty happy with it! I still own two in 35 , not first year, that are in pretty much mint condition. Still looking for a nice carbine!
