
By 1937, Remington/DuPont began marking Model 11 and “The Sportsman” receivers the same, and on August 24, 1937, stopped the separate serial number sequence at 515506 for “The Sportsman” and began numbering them both in the regular Model 11 serial number sequence which was around 400000 at the time.

When the combined serial number sequence reached 499999 on August 7, 1943, they then jumped to 700000 and continued.
During WW-II, Remington produced a plain finished military version od “The Sportsman” –
