Reloading for the 742 woodmaster

Post by 45lc »

I have a 308 caliber 742 remington. I used to use it to hunt in front of dogs here in Louisiana. Mostly pulled and pressed a soft point in military ammo. Stopped hunting in front of dogs back in 1974. Ran out of military ammo. Would like to start using rifle again for hogs. I have a lot of military primed brass and some reminton nickled brass primed. The powder I want to use is IMR 4895. What is a good load with remington 150 gr. core lock with this powder. I want a load that will funtion but not over power the action.

HELP!!! 45LC

.

If you don't have a reloading manual (which you should), there's lots of information online from a number of sources.

Just do a Google search on "308 Winchester reloading data" and you'll find plenty of reading.

I have lots of load data in books but no info on auto remington rifles. I was justy nasking if any one on the site ever reloaded for this type of rifle and had good results. I want to get a load tyhat will function the action and will work from there. Thanks but I already have at least 6 reloading manuals on hand and none have spacifific loads I need!!!
