Old Rolling block break down Remington.

Post by budreaux83605 »

I have here a Remington rolling block, break down 22 with "A3" stamped under the receiver end of the barrel. The serial number has "J" followed by 206xxx. It has an octagon barrel, fixed open sights, "Remington Arms Co. Ilion NY USA" on the top of the barrel (The same thing on the Tang), a release lever on the right side of the receiver to break it down, and the hammer clicks back to two positions. Can anyone tell me what model it is and the year(s) of manufacture, approximate value? I have talked to Remington, the nice fellow there referred me here.
Thanks, Budreaux.

The only question I can answer for sure, is you have a Model #4
Rolling Block. We can't give values, since it depends on condition
and if all of the parts are original.

Thanks Chuck, of course you're right, the value is extremely hard to define. So many variables involved. Oh well, that isn't as important as establishing the model.
