REMINGTON IS JUNK

Post by lassie »

i have a model 700 ADL in 7mm Mag Stainless Barrel blued action.
Ser. num. 6376534
I bought used not long ago.
the problem with it is this
the trigger has about 15 or 20 pound pull on it so I pulled all the screws from the stock then the trigger pull is ok. I found that when you install front screw
it pulls the trigger tight to the left looking from bottom and butt end of gun.
what I have found is that both front and back screws are drilled and taped
off center and crooked with trigger alignment With action out of stock and turned upside down with screws in action you can see the screws are leaning to one side very much
Setting the action back in stock and looking through the holes in the stock they do not line up by about .060. or 1/16th inch.
What can be done about this from the factory.
Or do I just junk it and never buy another Remington product.
I also have a 700 BDL in 243 that you can't touch the lands with a 100 grain bullet when reloading.
I'll never buy another Remington and the factory will do nothing to help me because I didn't buy them new.

So the question is what was done to the guns prior to you getting them? I don't blame Remington for not wanting to fix something someone else may have screwed up. When you buy used, you get the problems that came with the gun. I have a 7MM in a BLD very close to your serial number and has always shot 3/4" five shot goups at 100yds. You might want to bed the 7mm. I think I would make a chamber cast of the 243 just to see what was going on. Best of luck. All gun makers have problems but I'll stick to my Remingtons.

So you think that you lgo and buy a used firearm and it is not what you expected so the company is putting out junk???

I have a couple of shotguns, a .22 and a model 760 that are all wonderful guns. the chotguns were bought new, the 572 and the 760 were bought used. The older guns are a dream to shoot and the wokmanship is way better then todays products.

I am sorry you got a used lemon. This happens in every industry. But please don't go and call a company names or damn it because of just one experience. ;)

Shouldn't you be mad at the guy that sold it to you? Who knows what he did to it?

Plus, you could ask HIM to send it back to the factory for repair if he's the one that bought it new.
