i purchased a like new improved model 6 i would like to know the date of manufacture the serial number is in the 513 000 range cant find it in my books they have the original model 6

The production dates by serial # for the No. 6 (aka Model 6) in the Remington archives are estimates at best.
Comparing your rifle to some of mine, I would estimate that it is a late 1933 or early 1934 production. You can narrow it down to the month and year it was made by checking the barrel code located on the bottom of the barrel just ahead of the fore end. Enter Barrel codes in the Search RSA area on the RSA home page to get the code that will determine the date of production.
